Richard Hytner

Richard is the energetic Deputy Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide and, for the last 8 years, a member of its Executive Board. He is currently responsible to the WW CEO for Saatchi & Saatchi’s Strategy and programme of continuous transformation from advertising agency to Lovemarks Company.

Area of Passion
Richard has a real passion for working with organisations to develop high performance cultures that deliver the full potential of their organisational Purpose. He has a profound belief that creativity is one of the most potent forces for positive change in any organisation; that everybody has a creative muscle that they wish, and need, to flex; and that developing and sustaining a creative culture is a pre-requisite for any enduringly different organisation.

Client Organisations
For Saatchi & Saatchi’s clients across the world, Richard regularly runs 2 day Lovemarks Academies, in which live business challenges are addressed using the principles and practices that underpin Lovemarks theory.

This year he will run 2 Academies in EMEA, and dedicated Academies in the Netherlands, Italy and Switzerland, as well as 3 in China, one for Procter & Gamble.

He also runs Purposing sessions for the leaders of client organisations, recently completing Vision and Values work for Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean of London Business School and his executive team.

Beyond Saatchi & Saatchi, Richard is an Executive Fellow of the Marketing Faculty at London Business School where in the last year he has run Executive Education programmes for PWC, Eversheds, Nordea, Helvetia and leaders of the NHS.

Richard has also developed a creativity workshop that he has run for the MBAs at the Judge in Cambridge for 7 years and on The Emerging Leaders’ Programme at London Business School for 3 years. He adapted this for corporate use at Zurich Financial Services for the last 2 years.

Career Background
Richard joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2003 as Chairman & CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, Richard had been UK CEO & Chairman of Publicis and Chairman of WPP’s The Henley Centre.

He is a founder trustee of the Business Bridge Initiative that aims to bring an entrepreneurial educational experience to those around the world otherwise unable to afford it; Chairman of Planting Promise, a sustainable educational enterprise in Sierra Leone; and Chairman of the British Heart Foundation’s £50 million appeal to fund a 10 year commitment to Mending Broken Hearts (he is soon to join the BHF Board of Trustees).

Qualifications Speaking Opportunities
Richard has an MA and LL.M in Law from Cambridge University and subsequently graduated as a Sloan Fellow with distinction from London Business School.

He speaks regularly to clients, conferences and business school classes around the world on leading strategic transformation; Lovemarks, the future beyond brands; innovation; and leading creative businesses. This year he has delivered keynote speeches to Loyalty World, the Prudential Senior leaders’ Forum, and the Santander Corporate Banking CEO Conference. He will address PWC’s Global Telecommunications Forum in June.
