Laurence Lyons is a Member of the Associate Faculty at Henley Management College, where he is Director of Research of the Future Work Forum. He is also a Senior Vice President of the Executive Coaching Network, California.

He is an accomplished and astute business manager, consultant, speaker, author and senior management trainer with highly analytical and pragmatic skills. Laurence is an excellent communicator, with twenty years experience gained in small, medium and large Information Technology organisations.

Laurence has designed and delivered intensive, tailored workshops, which combine the above elements to some of the UK’s and Europe’s leading companies across all sectors and not-for-profit organisations. His clients include: British Airways, Unilever, Price Waterhouse Coopers, British Broadcasting Corporation, EDS, WH Smith and Dresser Industries.
His consulting career extends over several years and covers blue chip multinationals and a number of SME’s. Assignments have invariably been top-level, typically being sponsored by the organisations’ senior management team and involving major strategic organisational change.
Career Background
Many of Laurence’s personal coaching clients are to be found in Who’s Who. He has chaired and presented at conferences on consulting and coaching at the Institute of Directors, the Confederation of British Industry, and the Strategic Planning Society. In the early 1990s, Larry pioneered the “strategic cell development,” an approach that rapidly accelerates the development of managers and leaders.
Qualifications and Publications
Laurence Lyons holds a Ph D. in organisational analysis and an MSc in management from Brunel University. He is a member of several professional bodies and a member of associate faculty at Henley Management College, Oxfordshire, England, where he is Director of Research of the Future Work Forum. He is also a member of the Peter F. Drucker Thought Leaders’ Forum and a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches WABC.
Together with Professor David Birchall, he is co-author of the highly successful book Creating Tomorrow’s Organisation, published in the Financial Times Management Series. Dr. Lyons has written many articles and has appeared in publications of the Institute of Directors and the Peter F. Drucker Foundation. He has also appeared in such diverse publications as The Times, Computing, the Los Angeles Times, the Journal of the Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and Practical Training. He has appeared in British Airways Business Life magazine and has been interviewed on BBC Radio 4.
