Fariborz Ghadar is the William A. Schreyer Professor of Global Management, Policies and Planning, and Founding Director, Center for Global Business Studies at Penn State University and Senior Advisor and Distinguished Scholar at The Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Fariborz is a leading authority on future business trends, global economic assessment, petroleum industry, international finance and banking, and global corporate strategy and implementation, and regularly conducts executive programmes for multinational corporations.

Fariborz has served as a consultant to a score of major corporations, governments, and government agencies and regularly conducts programmes for executives of major multinational corporations in the United States and abroad. His clients have included Accenture, American Express, Aramco, AT&T, Avaya, BASF, CalPERS, Chevron, Cisco, Dell, Dow, Ericsson, GE, Kohler Company, Lockheed Martin, Sherwin-Williams, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, UBS, Weyerhaeuser, and the World Bank, among others.

Career Background
Prior to his position at Pennsylvania State University, Fariborz Ghadar was the chairman of the International Business Department at George Washington University Graduate School of Business and Public Management. He held a vice-ministerial post in Iran during the Shah’s regime, has served as an investment banker at the International Finance Corporation at the World Bank group, and was the research coordinator of the Harvard Multinational Enterprise Project. He is the recipient of the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Weyerhaeuser Educator of the Year Award, CIO Magazine’s Global Leaders Award, and BusinessWeek named him one of the top 10 Star’s of Finance.  He was named as one of the top 10 thought leaders and practitioners of strategy coaching in the new book, “Profiles in Coaching: The 2005 Art and Practice of Leadership Coaching:  50 Top Executive Coaches Reveal Their Secrets. Fariborz is also a member of the board of directors of Ohio Farmers’ and Westfield Financial Group.

Qualifications and Publications
Fariborz holds a PhD in business administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He also holds two master’s degrees, an M.B.A. from Harvard and a M.S. in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and two B.S. degrees from MIT, one in biomedical engineering and one in chemical engineering.

He is the author of twelve books on global economic topics, including the 2005 release of Global Tectonics:  What Every Business Needs to Know, Financing Growth in Developing Economies The Evolution of OPEC Strategy, The Petroleum Industry in Oil-Importing Nations, New Information Technology and Its Impact on Global Business Management, as well as numerous articles. Fariborz is frequently quoted in such internationally circulated publications as the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, and the Christian Science Monitor.  He has been a featured speaker and interviewee on the major television networks as well as the business broadcasts of CNN, CNBC, and Nightly Business Report. And he has testified before the U.S. House Subcommittee on the Middle East, South Asia as well as the oil industry.
