Juanita Cockton has 20 years experience working with companies on business and marketing plans. For over ten years Juanita has been a Course Director for the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) on the Senior Management Postgraduate Diploma Course and a Senior Examiner.
She specialises in designing and implementing marketing, management and change programmes. As a coach and mentor she has had a great deal of success in using action centred learning, some of which include cross country projects teams, and self managed learning.
Juanita started her career in a printing and publishing company followed by engineering companies, where her knowledge and experience of marketing was acquired, before moving into training and consultancy. While in the engineering industry Juanita was a member of an industry steering committee responsible for developing international market development strategies.
She is a member of and Consultant to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) working with their marketing management team. She has been a guest speaker and run seminars at CIPD Human Resource Development (HRD) conferences on learning and development.
Juanita worked with the Engineering Employers Association running full time management development courses and was responsible for all aspects of programme management including negotiating marketing and management projects in companies and supervising delegates through these projects.
She has run learning and development programmes for companies in the financial services including Lloyds TSB and AXA Insurance, energy companies including GPU Power and Shell, government including The Forestry Commission, Inland Revenue, London Underground, Telecommunications including Cable and Wireless, and the BBC and works for Henley Business School.
Juanita served as an Executive Committee Chairman of a Branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing providing networking opportunities for local business people and forums for business. During her service on the committee she was involved in all branch initiatives including Young Marketer of the Year Award, International Marketing Award and Senior Executive Recruitment Programme.
Juanita has a Masters in Marketing, Diploma in Training Management (Chartered Institute Personnel & Development), Diploma in Marketing (Chartered Institute of Marketing), Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration. Her co-authored publications include; Managing marketing: a practical guide for marketers (2007), Marketing Leadership and Planning (2009) and Strategic Marketing in Practice (2008).
